What this does, and doesn't, cover
- Covers: Article 50(1), the requirement that people are told they're interacting with an AI system, clearly and at or before the first interaction.
- Doesn't cover: Article 50(2) synthetic-content marking (that needs a machine-readable marker embedded in the media itself, not a page banner) or Article 50(4) deepfake/public-interest text disclosure. See the full checklist for those.
- Placement still matters: a fixed corner badge is a reasonable default, but if your chat widget opens in a modal or a separate view, make sure the notice is visible inside that interaction too, not just floating on the page behind it.
- The widget is a small, dependency-free script. It stores a dismissal flag in
sessionStorageonly (clears when the tab closes), and doesn't load any tracking, analytics, or third-party requests. - If your own site enforces a strict Content-Security-Policy, add
https://aidisclose.euto yourscript-srcdirective, otherwise your browser will silently block the widget.
